United to support

The Springfield Camira Men’s shed continues to develop, welcoming new members, getting the maximum use out of our current space, building our skills creating a new logo and developing our website

The Springfield Camira Men’s shed is open on Tuesday and Thursday 8.30 am to 2 pm and if you are interested in the men’s shed we would love you to drop in and say g'day.

I have tried many times to sit down and describe what draws people to the men’s shed, what our goals are and why we exist and it is a hard thing to do, because to everybody who joins the shed it’s something slightly different, as our members come with lots of experience in so many areas before they join the shed.

One thing we can offer everybody is a sense of purpose, a place to meet, a place to talk, a place to be involved and of course a place that has the equipment and supplies to undertake personal or community projects.

Community is very important to the men’s sheds across Australia and around the world. Here at the Springfield Camira Men’s shed, we are no different. Greater Springfield and Camira is our community, our members live local and have a want to ensure that the men’s shed not only benefits them but also the surrounding community.

It’s very important to us to continue to develop our shed, not just improving the services we offer our members, but also further developing our facilities so we can undertake more community based projects.

Another important area for the shed is making it sustainable, and undertaking projects that create saleable items, undertaking work in return for donations to the shed, and being one of the community groups that create those amazing snags on bread, with the onions on the bottom of course, that Bunnings customers look forward to on their weekend outings.

If you think the men’s shed might be for you, why not drop down and see us, we are behind the Community Centre at 389 Old Logan Road, Camira, or contact us.
